Alec is a seasoned information security consultant with over 13 years in the field, though his passion for computers and technology has been going strong for well over 20 years. His career started in information technology consulting to learn the ins and outs of how IT works not only from a technical perspective, but how technology should first and foremost be used to promote the business and it’s requirements.

He entered into the field with the aim of working on the offensive security side, which gives him a unique and valuable perspective on how an information security program should be architected. During the first phase of his career, he would architect solutions while constantly analyzing them from a hackers perspective to ensure security gaps were minimized mitigated, or eliminated where ever possible.

Though his most recent positions have been focused on the offensive security side, his passion and deep understanding of architecting solutions has never ceased. Through his discovered penetration test findings, his remediation recommendations to clients clearly demonstrates his understanding of tested systems and how to ensure they are as secure as possible.

His passion for tinkering and learning how things work is not exclusive to computers. At age 16 he performed an engine swap on his 1990 Miata in his garage, working on it bit by bit after work each day. These days, he performs extensive maintenance on his cars and motorcycles, in addition to maintaining his Airstream.
